My bichirs at 2015

Today i was thinking about putting in a 4-5 pimelodella catfish as a clean up but i thought he would be too small. That picture makes me reconsider doing it lol.

Be cautious.... but I have a 5" weeksii in with them and he lays on the pbbs head and never gets bothered ... I figured out the pbb is only grumpy tword the bigger polys not the small ones witch is good

I would if he didnt have spines. I understand the cat getting eaten and stuff, not the end of the world but those spines could easily take down the poly eating it too. And thats what steered me away. Ill let him gain a couple inches then move him. Or pick up the giraffe cat at work lol. jk tank is too small...

I agree it is risky ... I had a 9" sen back in the day (my 1st bichir) ... Bought a baby blue channel catfish and put it in with it ... Needless to say it got eatin took it 2 hours to swallow it all .... But end of story it did an it survived

Ive had no problems with mine whatsoever. But i dont want to risk it. I just need to find something that can clean the leftover massivore and other food. My parameters are back to normal so im comfortable adding something now. Just not sure what, do you have anything in with your polys?

A arowana and a rope fish lol ... The aro needs to go tho aros don't belong in less than a 300 gal bought it when it was baby to raise till about 15" ten was gonna trade it in cause I love aros so much lol .... Iv kept gar as well they do great but they ain't cleaners .... Iv kept a whole bunch of stuff with em but always end up ditching them cause I end up being like eh Idc anymore .... If it isn't prehistoric I have no business getting it lol cause I will end up getting rid of it haha ..... I will say oscars do a wonderful job cleaning up uneasiness food .... But at the same time try r extremely messy themselves .... And u got to over feed to get food to the polys .... Iv had 4 oscars all were extreme fat asses never stops eating lol

I have an aro growing out now but he has one eye lmao. I had gars with mine but had to get rid of them. My featherfin cat did a great job of cleaning but started getting a taste for slimecoat

As far as cleaning goes there r many things.... But the prob is gettin something compatible (long term) for bichirs ... "That u like"... I personally have yet to find such a thing .... I might can try a datnoid ... Honestly have 0 experience with them but they may eat left over good left in tank and they work well with bichirs .... Ask frank or someone who has some for more info
