my bichirs thread

Very nice!!! Going to get another one again. Mine got eaten by my catfish. Introduced too early in the main tank.

ansorgii was 11". 15" catfish was the black drifwood catfish. i thought it will be ok since i got about 15x 13-14" ropefish and some 9-12" sene, beutt, palmas, retro, del that are more skinnier. they been there ever since. somehow the fresh new scent attracted the catfish.

yeah it's cool how fish have a way to tell who's the new guy, although you would think it'd be easy for a new bichir to blend in to an existing group of bichirs and not be looked at as food. sucks it didn't work out that time.

thanks! i typically feed hikari sinking carnivore or massivore (depending on size), tilapia, and smelt. But i think the girth depends more on how much the particular fish likes to eat.
