My BIG Fish!!

Ok so don't you love hearing about peoples "BIG", such as in your LFS when you hear someone talking about there "huge" 7 inch pleco, or "massive" 3 inch oscar! I always feel bad for these fish, i can just see them looking massive in there 10 gallon tank

lol, I get a kick out of it too, then I remember what an idiot they are and how that "huge" fish is suffering it's juvenile life away in a bowl.

The boyfriend of a friend of mine keeps a quite fairly sized plec in a quite a small tank with some africans. I feel bad for him.

I never like to see a big fish in a small tank. I generally say something about it. haha

i have seen 7 koi carps in a 10 gallon and 6 oscars in a 5 gallon tank. i was shocked.

At a LFS recently, I've seen a group of 4'' black pacus and 3'' lei aros in a 10 gallon.

In the past I've seen Two 16" RTC's in a standard 55 gal tank (which is only 13" width) at a lfs ....... Poor cats...

I think we have all seen overstocked aquariums. Sadly its inherent with fish keeping that some will go head first in to the hobby without knowledge. And most likely get stuck in a beginners phase that some people either quit at when the fish die or learn more and become successful fishkeepers.

I seem to get a bigger kick out of when people talk about their "huge" tanks and find out that they have a 29 gallon tank or something like that. I also get a pretty good laugh when people come into my house and comment on how "huge" the 55 gallon tank is in my living room.
