Thanks you all, for the kind words. The fish are just under 24" (I think). It's hard to measure them as they turn to face me if I approach their tank. They are thicker, longer and taller then a year ago. When the water level is at half tank, their dorsal fins are out of the water, and they swim sideways. We used to drain 2/3s of the water out when doing water changes. They get really panicky if we do that now.
you must be a really good pacu mum 
not many people can say they like pacu to begin with, much less able to house them properly. thumbs up to you!
Thank you for the kind words, everyone. Danny was also in the tank. He was in an extremely foul mood, probably because I turned the lights on to take their pictures. He was not a happy camper and took out his frustrations on the pacu who ignored him. Having already retired for the night, the fish had their pale pajama colors on. Only Danny had an ugly attitude, though. So I had two grinning happy fish and one miserable, super irritated obnoxious fish.
