My Biggest Del jumped last night...

so sorry for your loss brother...

so we could all learn from your situation, could you give any details?
how big was it? how old? any signs of jumping before this?

I have two 6" bichirs in a 60g and no signs of jumping so far...
In fact, my del loves to rest in an anacharis plant about an inch from the top!

She was just over 7", I got her right after christmas at 5-6". NEVER had any jumping problems with ANY of my bichirs. This came as a huge wake up call/shock.

Do not take comfort in the fact they have never tried it... trust me. :(
 
I know how awful it is to realize a fish like a bichir is not in the tank and to come to the realization that it must be dead. Im sorry

I have a 10 inch p. palmas that ive had for years. One night i heard thumping on the floor and i got up to check it out. My bichir had jumped out, ddried up, and been partially swallowed by my cat. i yanked her out of the cats mouth and put her in a 10g hospital tank all by herself, and in an hour or so she was fine, but with tons of deep cuts. Shes fine now.
