So my dad got me a 55 gallon tank for my birthday..my biggest tank ever yay (will post pics of the process of setting up) :nilly:

The thing is that it was used and pretty dirty..So the first thing that happens when we get home is that my dad sprays glass cleaner ALL OVER the aquarium (inside and outside) and when I saw it my face looked like this ---> :WHOA:

It was ProGlas Professional Glass Cleaner, and it has no ammonia but i was wondering if it had any bad chemicals that could still leech into the water over time, since glass is porous

Regardless I'll rinse it out at least 30 times :)
Just wondering if there's anything else I could do to not leave any trace of the ProGlas, thanks :]

^^ That's a good idea. Fill the tank up and see if you see a film on the top of the water. If you do keep rinsing it but it should be okay.

i picked up a lot of 35 thanks from 3 gal-75 gal from a breeder and they just let everything dry up so there was a lot of build up on the tanks .... i used CLR cleaner to clean the tanks ... which is about as harsh of a chemical that is out there ... after the tank is clean i spend plenty of time washing it out with pure water .. make sure there is no smell .. and fill the tank up and let it sit for a day drain and re fill ... its a simple way to clean tanks .. and never had a problem loosing fish ..

so you should be just fine .. remember that if you rinse the tank out really well ... when you fill it up .. the parts that may be left will be extremely diluted and chances are they will not be harmful
