... my marineland filter instructions tells u to clean all areas talked about in this thread, do urs not?

yer supposed to read the instructions? So that's what they are for. Mine got thrown away with the box.

instructions? Where is the fun in that?... Why I usually clean mine about once every two months. I do a total brake down of my filter and clean every inch of it, even the outside. I just stick the bio wheels in a bucket of tank water.
