I had the exact same thing with mine. It got a section of dark scales and then they actually raised and still are. I don't know what to do. I have posted about the same thing just 2 days ago and didn't get much help. I was guessing it was a bruise from another fish or object and now its going to shed the scales but I really have no idea and wish I did?????

A pic of my blacks dark spot is the first pic in my gallery.

i dont really see it in your pics michael... are you saying yours was like mine and THEN the scales raised? mine isnt raised as of right now..
also, those pics were the best i could take, i dont know how to make my camera take the shot faster as it keeps moving..

I thought that only red parrots get the black spot disease.. :grinyes:
Well, do the spots have the exact same patterns on both sides? It could have hit something real hard and those are now dead scales that have not fallen off yet. Thats the only thing i could think of for now.

is it a disease? i also noticed one of my red parrots hd a red dot, and also my gold severum recently grew a black dot..

This seems to happen when the scales "fall" off from damage to the fish. It will eventually go away. The scales grow back, and they are a darker color than the rest of them. Hope this helps!
