and so does my girlfriend.
Last night(well, rather, early this morning) at about 3:00 I was woken from a wonderful sleep by my girlfriend. She was panicing, so naturally I jumped out of bed. "WHAT IS IT?" I asked, frantically.
'There's something wrong with the fish in the 20 gallon!' was the reply.
Knowing that the black mollies are my daughters favorite fish (beside her goldfish(long story-we had two in a 3 gallon aquarium long ago, well before I knew anything about aquarium keeping, and my little girl LOVED them with all her heart. One morning,we found both floating dead in a sea of tiny baby mollies. She was heartbroken. So we upgraded to a 10 gallon tank to keep the babies in, and added a common feeder goldfish to keep them company-We ended up with 5 mollies-4 black and one perfect dalmation- and a goldfish that my neighbor offered me $50.00 for-awesome ****e-anyway)....I rush to the living room, and see the mollies all lying on the bottom of the aquarium.
"I tried to feed them and they didn't move" she howled, referring to their gluttonous nature(that they certainly learned from the goldfish).....
I was still half asleep, but I knew that if the fish were suddenly ill, it could be due to a couple of simply remedied factors-Failed heater, or failed filter.
I checked the temperature. 78 degrees fahrenheit. I checked the filters. Could use cartridges cleaned or replaced, but functioning within what I'd call good parameters. Then, eager to get a better view of the situation, I switched on the aquarium light strip. The fish scattered.
THE DINGBAT DIDN'T KNOW THAT FISH SLEPT!
WHAT THE HELL? So, as I try to get back to sleep,my cats decide that since we were up they get to put on a grand parade so they start doing the elephant stomp up and down the hallway.
Then I realize that my furnace is really loud.
Also, the traffic from the nearby highway is really heavy at this hour of the night.Sirens. Dogs barking.
No sleep for Mr. Skunx.
oi oi, up the punx.if you say you are, you're not. if you used to be, you never were. if it's too loud, you're TOO OLD.
