I like the way a shoal tightens up when there's a predator lurking..........
I love watching him chase them down or try to. The shoal tightens up but migrates to opposite end Lucifer is in.

Here are a few more shots of what I see when the sun goes down. I love how the blue led shines on the belly side of all the fish and red on top.

Enjoy.

what's his staple diet ? and how often do you feed him live ? I know live feedings are good because guts and bones have a lot of nutrients such as calcium etc

His staple is tilapia filets, headless smelt, full bodied and all stuffed with massivore pellets. He is feed 2-1 times a week. The community fish is for my enjoyment of seeing him hunt. I am adding 50x more Giant danios next week with my supplier gets more. Giant Danio's bulk up fast. I want all my Giant danio's to look like fat sticks of spearmint gum swimming in a shoal.

Came home today and when Lucifer's tank was in sight, I saw him kill 2 red eye tetras. He darted at one and then chomped on it. Lucifer is surprisingly fast for a fish his size. The second one was hunted down with in 30 seconds of that first.

Strange, he was feed a healthy size tilapia fillet the night before. He killed these fish just to kill them. Their bodies was just floating around. It could be that I walked in on him during lunch and he was disturbed?
When he hunts them down at night, he chews once then swallows these gut loaded feeders. I was hoping he will finish off the two bodies later. We will see.

Lucifer seems to enjoy eating red eye tetra's more then any other fish. Out of 40x There is probably only 20+ left.
