Nope. There has been an increase in the amount of ID sharks around Singapore recently, some being sold in feeder packets. I bought 2 sharks to try it out and it seems like they do enjoy it.
he is now about 13.5” in length. Really slowed down in growth once he reached 12” in length. Hope he grows up to be one of the larger black wolves on mfk. I wonder who has the largest currently, I know it used to be harleyk?
Small update although I wouldn’t say it is a good one. Recently the past 2 weeks he stopped eating. Water parameters have been fine ( ammonia, nitrite, pH, nitrate although slight higher at 40ppm, been this way), and ALL the other tankmates have been eating. In fact, the other tankmates appetites have increased.
Finally reached the 14” mark! Only grown about 1-1.5” in the span of an entire year. His/ her growth has slowed down by a lot. Gulfs down 3-4 large prawns each feeding though. Cant believe I’ve had wolfie here for 2.5 years (probably around 3 years old now) and still can’t identify its gender
Still at 14”. Don’t think she will grow any larger anymore, maybe about an inch in the next year. Average black wolf fish grow about 15-18” in captivity anyways, happy with her progress so far!
I think she has reached 3+ years old, Slowly Becoming a mature fish. Size has not changed. Goes on hunger strikes once every month or two, and starting to eat less, but still eats a substantial amount to keep herself going. Unless of course it’s her favourite food, live bullfrogs, where she will gorge herself.
Unfortunately, as with most of not all wolf fish as they grow older, most the their fins become tattered overtime. As you can see, the dorsal fin is no longer perfect as compared to my previous posts and I don’t think it will grow back. Regardless, I still love her very much.
It’s been awhile since I’ve been here, hopefully some people still remember me
Still have all my fish and all thriving well. Appetite has picked up for everyone, with my fatty wolf chomping down on large pieces of squid and prawns with no issue, her stomach like an endless pit.
She has now pushed about 15-15.5”, growth I think has stabilised and I don’t think she will grow any further. I’ve had her for about 4 years ++ so far already if I’m not mistaken! She has developed gill curl on the left side, but i think it’s just purely genetics as she behaves as per normal and eats none stop if given the opportunity
