MDH nice acara i think yours is a male like mine as the fins are more pointed and long. my blue acaras are fine with everythink ive put in there theres dwarfs and 3 tetras in there to show how friendly they are although the acara in my pic is the ruler of the tank but i have seen no fighting.
i have 3 acaras the other 2 are dull and my colourful 1 and the 2 dull ones are a pair(not 100% hopefully not) i would say acaras might do ok with your jack dempsey, i have them but in a seporate tank. it depends on ur tank size and personality on your dempsey. iam hoping to get a big tank and add them together because the shop where i get my cichlids are realy laid back and hardly any fights lol so it could be ok if not go with the look-a-like green terror they are alot more aggressive but i wouldn't add a acara with your jaguar a terror may be alright but he must be a hard terror or a push over jag

Here's mine. Almost 2 years old. Female. Her partner died. She continually drops eggs. I love aequidens. Do not put acara with a jag. Death threat. The first pic is my first spawn.
I couldn't tell you about the sex.... only because I knew she was a she because she has laid eggs. Really nice acara tho!
