My blue dolphin (Cytocara moori)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mine really does not have any hump or signs of a hump at this time, must have my fish confused with the other dolphin example LOL.

Thanks for the compliment on my dolphin. I originally bought 4 of them but only this one fish survived the trip home and first 24 hours in my tank. They had not looked good at all at the shop, they gave me a discount if i took all of them so i figured why not try it. One was dead when i got home and the other two were dead in the morning when i checked them. This one was the healthy one, it was swimming around the tank with in a few minutes of being released from the bag and eating good the first day, the others were not and did not survive. I wish i had more of them.

(Just chiming in that I think yours is a male too, the head does apear to be forming a hump.)

Nice Flippers...

im sure im just so used to seeing the slow growing fish all year and dont notice the hump forming. Mostly i just see the rounded head profile from the side etc. I will look again today when i feed, he is a aggressive little bugger at feeding time, racing all over the tank for his little sinking pellets.

The coloration on the head shows the signs... females do not get that pale of color where a hump is or will grow... So I am not confused, just the bump is coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dolphins are awesome, but it's gonna be a long time before my dolphins grow bigger and get bumps. Here's one of mine that is scared of the camera because of a lack of tank mates at the moment.

LOL thanks mike. I was looking at it yesterday and it shows the slightest (and i mean slight LOL) hint at getting a bump, but only when i look from certain angles.

LOL LOL LOL Heck no. It grows just fast enough not to get eaten by the slow growing fronts :nilly: I have had mine for over a year now and it is just now reaching almost 3 inches. I would not be suprised to find if i removed it to measure with a tape and it was actually 2.5 LOL.
