awsome tank, will it be big enough for them when they are full grown?
Theoretically. They should max out at about 12" and the tank is 18" wide so they wont be overly cramped. They have first dibs on the 180g once its set up though.

Bluegills can get larger than 12". Although thats a pretty big gill, and very old. After 6" or so, they slow down in growth considerably, but do continue to grow throughout their lives. A 65g would be a fairly decent tank for a pair, until they decide to spawn. If they do, one will die. Any idea if you have one male and one female, or two of male or female?
Very nice setup by the way. They'll quickly learn to come out for photo ops.

I'm pretty sure they're both male, as they both show a decent amount of color. Beyond that I'm not too sure how to sex them.
They love to come up front for pictures and have ever since they got settled. Unfortunately its all head on shots as they love to stare. This threads almost 6 months old and Id love to give some update shots but I dont have a camera these days.

Actually heres some recentish pics. Notice one has red eyes and the other doesn't. I think the red eyed one may have some Redbreast in him.
