You know what your right.......heck last i checked we didnt need any more Royals, Burms, Geckos, Lizards, Dogs, Cats.............

:shakehead

You know, your right!

We have way to many ball pythons out their. They live long and are dirt cheap. People buy them and a few months later, dont want them. Rescues are over loaded with them.

Burmese pythons? You think we need more? I think you are mistaken. We have far to many. Check out the Everglades....

Leopard geckos... we dont need to breed them for several years until the numbers go down.

We dont need anymore Bearded Dragons or Iguanas.

If you havent been lately, the pound and humane society is full of cats and dogs. So many they need to turn the people down. And thats wheir they are let loose in the wild.

We dont need more. Stop this breeding crap and just have a pet for once.

I see the point you are trying to make but your position applies to ALL pet keeping. Some asshat let Snakeheads go in a Maryland pond a few years ago. Remember that? I think Snakeheads should be illegal. They obviously are a threat to our native ecosystems.
How about birds? In NY, it is illegal to import wild birds. I worked in the industry when the bird ban went into effect. The only reason you can even buy a parrot in the state of NY is because of breeders.
Same goes for snakes. Breeders are protecting the habitat of Boa Constrictors by breeding them. If the demand is met through effective local breeding, there is no need to destroy habitat collecting wild specimens. Same goes for your fish collecting hobby.
The burden falls on the shoulders of the animals owner, not the guy who bred them.

If it werent for captive breeding the animals WILD populations would suffer from collecting so that you could have your "pet".

Maybe we should stop breeding people as well............hell there are WAY too many of them available!!

Yeah, do we NEED a billion Chinese?:D

I agree that their are to many people on earth. Unfortunatly they fight back when we try and put them down. Unlike animals.

I guess no matter how many times it is said you arent going to "get it".

IF IT WERENT FOR CAPTIVE BREEDING ANIMALS WOULD BE REMOVED FROM THIER HABITAT TO SUPPORT THE PET TRADE.

Do you honestly think that because people are no longer breeding Burms that the demand for them will stop????? Of course it wont, if anything the demand will INCREASE, so even ILLEGAL exportation will INCREASE because the animals will be worth more money. Which in turn will lead to yet another species on the "endangered" list. And I just used the Burms as an example.

I really dont know how else to lay it out for you. People are going to want these animals as pets and CAPTIVE BREEDING supplies them.

And I dont want to even get started about how many animals dont even make it alive through the export process let alone healthy..........
