So since I finally bought a new digital camera, it's time to show off some snakes. These are my two boas, one is a yellow water boa and the other is a common boa constrictor. I have owned both for some time now and love them to death. All comments welcome :)

does he actually swim in ( what looks like a tub )?

Yes that is a bath tub, I will be doing a photo shoot of the cage another date. I used to have a heater in the tub until my boa broke it. When the water is heated (70-78) he was always in the water and ate in the water too. The only time he does not go in the water is when it is not heated(like now) or if he soils the water.

I'm pretty sure that's a yellow ands anaconda

The reason why I call them "water boa's" is for three reasons. Not only is it nicer on the ears, when most people hear anaconda they auto think it's a killer. The second reason is that most people do not know what family anacondas belong too. If I was to ask people if anacondas belonged to Boidae, Pythonidae or Other, most people would choose other. Just look on fauna-classifieds and other vending sites, people think they have there own special family. The third and last reason is because these animals spend most of there life in water. I advise people who are thinking anaconda to make sure they provide ample water for soaking. I know this is a hot topic as breeders will tell you they do not need any more them a dog dish for water but I disagree. :)

Of course you are right. They need a pool like you give it.

Call it a yellow conda, it is what it is, and who knows, knows....that is all that matters...

Is it a girl?

The bc somehow feminds me of hogg island..is it the pix?
