My parameters are OK..temp is at 82'F and nitrates are a little high but nothing to be concerned with. Been doin regualr water changes every week and never a problem. Not sure if its mental. Its only occassional that this happens..it's like he's pouting. Cause when food shows up, he's back to himself. Could he be lonely or sad? Remember Ive had him since he was a baby back in June and he's grown significantly, very healthy.
Here he is a few months ago and then yesterday. He looks really healthy and eats ALL the time...

I am sorry...apparently I forgot that part. He lays on his side in his little hole he made for himself. Not all the time but enough to cause concern. Its just not what a big FH should be doing.

sounds like Oscar style pouting to me. did you change the decor recently?
Actually, I did. I laid his 12" anchor down because he kept knocking it over. Its literally like he's a baby pouting in HIS corner. Open his food jar and look out, out of his corner and practically in your face.

Coming from someone with very little FH knowledge and just throwing a idea out- maybe get a dozen fish to use as feeders, quarantine them, and throw them into the tank. Just having the extra activity going on in there and fresh food to chase, maybe it will get him out of his depression.

Could be pouting like oscars do....Did he do it before you messed with the decor?

No, not really. Kinda sad to watch him. All I gotta do is walk up to his tank and he's fine. I may move him to my other tank. its in the middle of our living room as opposed to our bedroom where he is right now.

anyone? I am at work, and will be until tomorrow afternoon, and my wife keeps calling upset over is behavior. But my daughter says he's fine. Is this just a behavior issue or could it be a physical problem?
