Here is my new 50 gal. tank. It's 36" in length, 18" high, and 18" deep. Now... I was thinkin of puttin "dwarf pikes" a green terror, and a pair of firemouths... or one baby flowerhorn... I am open to suggestions though... Any ideas of what would be safe to put in this tank long term? (I will most likely end up putting in just one green terror, but I wanted some input).

put water in it, thats a good starting place!! hahaha (well i thought i was funny) the problem with keeping a flowerhorn is that you cannot add other fish to the tank later on and it could end up a pretty boring tank that wont hold your intrest. so thats worth thinking about long term wise. could make a nice malawi tank maybe? or do you have plans to get a bigger tank later on?

how about a few choice south american cichlids? as an example geophagus are great to keep.

there is water in it... a good joke nonetheless. Anyways, my ideal tank is a royal green terror, and a pair of firemouths. My worry is the tank is too small. I have a 125 gal. as well. I notice that you have a pair of firemouths. Would the go alright with a green terror?

hmmm ive had 2 GT's and they were both very aggressive i never tried to keep them with firemouths .but firemouths may be able to fend for themselves. the answer i will give is that im just not sure. someone else will know.

Beautiful! Outstanding Tank!
Firemouths are nice but so are the Severums: the poor mans discuss. Or Hypsophyrs Nicaraguenses; they're easier going and they grow larger. Forget Flowerhorns; ther're not real LOL.
Nice tank man, you have the Aquascapers Eye! Keep it up. :D

surely the tanks backing has you confused? to me thats a tank full of gravel

too much brandy? nahh not possible! you cant ever have too much of that good thing!

It would be a nice tank for smaller cichilds. I would highly advise you to not put a flowerhorn in there, prob. not a good idea. If you ever have a problem figuring out if they will all fit long term, look online and see what size the fish are full grown, if they all get extremely big, then you might need a bigger tank, I prsonally never owned gt's or fm's but I do own a fh. Anywho thats a nice tank! good luck!!
