Poor guy.

As for your brother Tommy, he got much older in a couple of hours. It is not funny, it is awfull, but it is life.

I like the way you describe your love and respect for your brothers. I like it as a man and I like it as a father of 4 boys.

Very well put Miguel...
Death is nothing more than part of life. The sad thing is the age that this young man met his end. Dealing with death is different for everyone.

Best wishes and god bless,
Chris

that is heart breaking
make sure your brother knows that you love him that much
things happen in life that don't make sense but we all have to move on eventually, tell him to take his time and be there for him as he needs a friend right now to help him through this

RIP Greg

Thank you all. I am taking donations for Greg's funeral if anyone would be willing to donate. Any amount is helpful, even $1. All proceeds will go towards paying for funeral costs. You can send money to my PayPal account via birdhouse_1116@yahoo.com. Make sure you use the gift option so PayPal doesn't get their greasy fingers on any of the money. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated.

The funeral was today. Very touching and very heartbreaking. You could tell there was a hell of a lot of love for Greg. They had to fit nearly 400 people in a tiny funeral home. My brother was certainly torn apart, but it was certainly understandable. He was displayed with all of his instruments around his casket, and his dad gave my brother his mandolin. At the end of the service, they took him to the burial site, did the prayers and whatnot, and a friend of his stuck a big OCMS (Old Crow Medicine Show, for those unaware) bumper sticker on the end of the casket. This started a huge applause and a slight bit of happiness. It was certainly nice to see all of the people he affected and who loved him. Hell, even our local Texas Roadhouse called in a different staff for the kitchen so all of the cooks could attend the funeral (he was a cook as well). So he indeed made an impact on a lot of lives and will surely be missed.

I'm still accepting donations to help lower the funeral costs if anyone wishes to donate. Any sort of money will help out, so don't feel like your $1 won't be enough.

Wow man i just read this thread and it touches really close to home. Last year my cousin, 20 at the time, accidently overdosed on morphine and alchohol. He was born 5 days before me and life hasnt been the same without him. BUt the funeral for him was absolutely amazing and made me feel a lot better. 1000 plus people showed up and I even got to speak, my aunt and uncle got an In-n-Out truck too. I hope your brother and his friends are doing alright. The best thing you can do is stay close with all the people that knew him and meet up to talk about him and the good times every once in a while.

my heart goes out to you all... such a tragic loss... for everyone..
