I saw the sturgeon as well. I always almost got one.

honestly, if YOU know the difference between the fish its not a big deal.

I don't, that was the problem.

My father loves sturgeon and is just getting into fish, so I wanted to consider getting them and help him raise them, but I know nothing about sturgeon, and got no help.

Wow you guys fish too?

Thats weird. I fished round lake last fall. I had a small canoe with my friend, and a storm blew in and we couldn't get back to route 9 against the wind. Got nothing that day, but I'll be back up there soon. I do most of my fishing for walleye and bass on lake Champlain and Saratoga lake. I also usually go out for salmon in the fall out by utica as well.

I'm all hyped up for striper fishing on the hudson this year.

pass on them as they get huge and thats a understatement

Well from some brief google searches i think they're some type of European sturgeon that stay around 3-4 feet. I do know a bit about sturgeon, but like you most of what I know is fishing related.

nice man. I grew up on round lake so I know it like the back of my hand. My parents live in round lake and so dont my grand parents. You need to know what the fish want, and where they are in that lake. The lake is very hard to fish but when you figure it out and start catching them, every fish is a big fish. I could post 30+ pictures of 20"+ large mouths I caught out of there last fall. I was out there in the boat when the shores were frozen out a good 10ft or so, still nailing them. There is also 50"+ tiger muskies in there, but good luck on ever landing one!

50+ inch tiger is a dream fish i caught a 25 incher 2 years ago

yup. Once in a life time fish.

Oh yeah I know about the Muskie. That was one of the fish I saw, just cruising in shallow water. He was probably 36-40 inches.

I striper fished last year, but our boat wasn't water ready, so I was in downtown Troy fishing off a wall by where that Captain JP cruise boat docks. Between me and 2 of my friends we got 3 or 4 24 inch+ stripers and a bunch of channel cats. We did pretty good considering that we didn't get out until well after mothers day weekend.

I caught a 42 inch striper from shore 2 years ago havent striper fished since. I have love it but i love the fight you get from largmouth ams smallmouth.
