Hi,

i'm new at MFK and i already introduced myself in the itroducing subforum.

I thougt it would be a good idea to show you my african predatory catfish in this subforum also.

You can find the rest of my fish in the Polypterus forum...

Lets see if you can name the species:

Yes it is! I ordered mine over the Internet. (Germany)

Anaspidoglanis macrostoma and Chrysichthys ornatus
Right! ;)

Any other "tough" ones
No other catfish....

The other fish i have are Polys, eels and some non-predatory...

I am not familiar with those cats, what are they like and how big :D

Hi,

xou can read the facts here:

http://www.scotcat.com/factsheets/anaspidoglanis_macrostoma.htm
http://www.scotcat.com/factsheets/chrysichthys_ornatus.htm

My experience shows that the A. macrostoma are much more active an that there ist no agression against each other, they do well in a group!

The C. ornatus doesn't move during the day at all, but ist an excellent hunter at night! Mine ist about 8 inches an eats 3 3 inch Goldfish in one night.

Due to the calm behavior of C. ornatus ( i mean it doesn't swim around much) i would say it doesn't need a very large Tank...

At first i had t C. ornatus in the Polypterus Tank, but they wouldn't let him have any feed.

Both species are wunderful and i can recommend them to anybody how is searching for e small african predator...

PS: I hope you could understand my english...
