The puffer is a brackish fish, how long have you had him/her in that tank? You DEF need to get it out and into a brackish setup, they can last a few months even more if the water is just right but I don't see it lasting much longer. It too is a very aggressive fish and will nip your other fishes fin, it killed my goby dragon within 2 days of mine being it the tank ):

The tank is def WAY to small for that many fish. Once they reach maturity and are in that tank the fights will progress even more.
I noticed you are building a bigger tank. Which is very good but the tank you have now wont be enough in a few months. (:
Good luck on this project. Hope it goes well.
See what happened was I chose a few fish and my girl chose a few. The Puffer was her choice because of the color. And I didn't find out about the brackishness andd fin nipping until we got home and I Googled it. But I bought them all including him (I think its a him lol) Puffy in there now 2 weeks today. But no fin nipping though expect for my son's Betta fish R.I.P Pretty Boi. Poor Betta you should've seen the perplexed look in my son's eyes when we came home one night and he saw his fish's carcus at the bottom of the tank. But the only (suspect) fish I saw pecking was the Texas Cichlid and ever since then we've been on bad terms lol. I tried to explain to my son who's 3 btw that Pretty boi wasn't tough enough to survive. But he didn't care he just wanted to see his fish swimming with the other fish in tank and not in the bowl.

Oh yeah thanks for the support I'll try to keep everyone posted with updates as the new tank proggresses and I read that they usually only attack slow moving and or long finned fish not to mention other puffers and snails. Its a good thing the freshwater puffers are poisonous like the saltwater ones.
