Right now it's currently eating superworms, FD krill, and shrimp
 
Nice Red, slow down on the feeding a little. Skip a day or two. Try some darker color gravel and less lights, that might darker is color. Just my two cent worth.
 
I only feed every other day.
The lighting I think is making the gravel lighter than it actually is. The fish used to be in an all black tank. I decided on the gravel to change it up a bit :).
Hmmm.. I always thought that the less light they receive, the less colour they develop...I'm going to look into that.
 
If the tank is too bright, they tend to lighten up. But give it time. Some reds color don`t show up until after 2-4 years. As long as the bloodline is a good one. GL.
