Welp, I'm on my way to the LFS to get one now. Keep having these nightmares about over stocks and poorly matched fish in my wife's tank (she calls it that even though I take care of everything) so I'm cleaning it out at putting new stuff in there.

Very cool. Just keep in mind that theres two different types of chocolate cichlids

Look to be hypselecara temporalis. Still very young to tell for sure but im 95% positive. And for 10 dollars is a good buy

Ya, throwing him in with a small red severum. Should be a nice tank mate for him while he grows into my larger tank.

Severums and chocolates make wonderful tank mates. But like mine do they will have spats just like any other cichlids

Nice looking fish, going to be a looker as an adult.

I have a pair of these guys with 6 green serves and a couple goes. All get along great. The chocolates have had wiggles once. They are not even aggressive when defending their young

Nice chocolate! I had a 13" female back in the day. Thats what got me into the big fish game.
