Very nice setups. There are fibreglass tanks with just a front viewing panel that are cheaper than very large glass or plastic tanks.

Yean imagine the african set up in that thing. Some emperor cichlids, you could have a whole lil slice of africa. Ive never went bigger than 180 with africans. I will go larger in the future.

Yes that link is the type im thinking of. But they are availble in much bigger sizes. Basically a giant box with a viewing panel. Im not sure if they reach 500 gallons but they do reach a few hundred i think

I want a screened in back porch. Two sides regular, one side Concrete with a huge mound of earth dug up to it. In there would be my monster tank built into the wall. Surrounding earth would serve as insulation and additional support. Minimal covering structure to protect from elements and pollutants. Outdoors to prevent humidity from ruining the house or taking up so much space.
But yeah I definitely want a slice of Africa. I've seen some gargantuan tanks with just as gargantuan fish in them. I want to clearly see territorial regions. Rocks in some sections for those favoring them, Sand across the rest for sand dwellers, and tall enough for open swimmers to be comfortable.
The only way I see this happening (until your fiberglass Idea) was cinder block and concrete.
To top it off, I'd like an R/C submersible with camera linked to a TV in the porch so I can get closer on my own safaris LOL, I could settle on a mounted camera in the back to see whats difficult from the window..
but as I said, still in the dreaming stages
