My Cichlid Story

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There's five in there plus a synodontis. I'm gonna stop there unless the Kenyi starts being a pain. He may have to go back in his own tank. Then I might get another cichlid or two.
Mike what's pseudo? They just look like other species or what?

Alright. OB is Orange Blotched/Blossom. This doesnt mean they have to be orange, basically just blotched.

Pseudo means Psudotropheus. Its a family name of Mbuna.

That is def. not a purebreed Kenyi. It seems to have some Kenyi in it, but is most likely a hybrid.

It is small, but it is all I can afford at present. That's why I have the tank filtered with an aqua-tech 20 gallon and an aquaclear 30 gallon and I do weekly 50-60% water changes. Whenever I can afford something bigger (IE I graduate from college), I plan on a much bigger tank.

So... new update. I got a breeding net for christmas, so now I have to decide what to do. Keep the OB get rid of the rest? I really like my Aulonocara and don't want to get rid of that. It's only a 28 gallon as stated before so I don't think I can keep all these cichlids together. Any inputs would be great.

Well, just got some new pix. The tank has changed a little. Took my small peacock out and put him in a tank of his own. (well, with my crayfish.) Got a melanochromis and a calvus.
