I know knifefish are farmed in captivity. And while I'm no expert, I do know that they probably use artificial growth hormones, and power feed the fish. Even still, I'm only talking about food farmed clown knives. As far as yours (which is probably bred differently than food farmed) it may and probably grow around 2 to 2.5 feet if properly taken care of. '

What horrible luck. Somehow everything that could go wrong went wrong with your aquarium. I hope this crash course on fishkeeping left you with a better understanding of what your fish need to be healthy. Im not going to preach to you about a 6" inch fish needing a 265 gallon tank, because you dont need it yet. As long as the fish can swim 3x its body length and can turn around with the greatest of ease, the tank is ADEQUATE, not perfect, but adequate. But trust the people on MFK who are saying that a clown knife and a jardini cannot be in the same tank together. 99% of jardinis are killing machines when they hit 7-8". Trust when they say that the clown knife will get over 2ft. You have been misinformed. Royal clown knives only get to about 20-22", not regular clown knives. Please take this hobby more seriously, these are living creatures that feel pain.

Lol 225 a monster tank? Lol more like a monster grow out tank. I think this thread wins for most advice given but none taken :p
