My Clown Loach Collection

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Man, I am offer a great deal on some 7" clown Loaches.

1. Sell my 3 of biggest for $20.00 each (adding 2 to 18 =20)
or
2. Sell all my 18 small Clown Loaches (adding 2 to 5 =7)

I was going to trade my 120 for a 200g but my buddy backed out on me. so now they are housed in a 120 for a little bit longer than I want them to be. I am in the market for a 300 gallon tank. I may stil buy the 200G, such a nice setup for the $$, but I only have a room for 1 96 wide tank, it's buy the 200 now and then sell to get a 300 or just save and wait for a 300!

I told my buddy to sell his 200 on CL. I'm still contemplating, and I do agree that a 300G will be the better choice. I will sell 1 of my 120s this week, and make room for a 200, 240 or a 300 gallon.

thanks pounder.

embarrassed to admit but I have been battling ich and loss my 3 biggest clown loaches. They were all well in my 120, I thought I make room in my 75 for odd ball growouts, moved my red head tapajos, and some Tetras. Went to seattle for 4 days, come back to see my clown sick with ich. got ich attack meds poured into tank. 2 days later I loose my 4" clown, very heart broken, 2 days pass, I loose another 4" and another 3 days have passed, thinking the worst is over. i loose my biggest 5" clown! at this point I was too overwelmed to be pissed. so far 5 days ahve passed with no passing. but the smallest clown loach is sich with ich! I think he will not make it. I bought some Crypto-Pro suggest by a hobbyist friend.

treating my fire eel first, and then will treat the 110 clown loaches tomorrow.
I've added the meds to a 55 blue barrel and a 60 gallon hospital tank, with heats of temp at 85, hopefully I'll have some warm water for chaning tomorrow. 55 gallons will go in the morning, and a nother 55 will got in Friday. hope all works out.

update of my new loaches home, its a 112, 72X18X20, Would love to have a 240 clown Tank,, but for what it's worth, i am enjoying the 112.

I got a 300 and gonna stock it with my pack of 30 clowns and maybe the rest of my loaches sids, emperors, histronica's, queens, and striatas. But dunno what kinda dither fish i want to add. something that gets a decent size but, yet not big enough to eat my loaches:eek:.

sorry I've been very busy with other things in life. I've loss my biggest 3 clown loaches and have be very worried about adding new loaches. I did however added a spot loach from a buddy's collection. other than that, I have not added anything new to my 110 tank. I will post pictures in 2 weeks, can't do visoe, my sony came does not have a memory stick, I've too cheap to buy one. :) they are all doing well, and my tank it now stable. I am running my 110 with an FX5, and a a sump made for 300 gallon, and a GenxPCX40 returning the water at 900-1100 gph. I am also changing 25% of the water every 3 days. Feeding twice a day on the days I work and 3 times a day on the days I am off.

they are growing nicely, only isse is my biggest Clown at 4" hides all the time!

nice, a 300 that is awesome. be careful what you stock with clowns, they are very sensitive. and stress quickly. I've seen some nice Tiger loaches and have learned that they are crazily aggressive! If you can buy all your 30 loaches at 1 time I would. introducing new fish may also introduce new diseases. so best to get 30, quarantine, and treat with ich if you suspect and once you do that, refrain from adding new stock to the tank, unless quarantine, good luck, pictures? ...

i've sold my 125 cube and move the clowns into a 112 gallons, its wider 72X18X20. I'm hoping to get a 300 30"

I am running 1 FX5 and 1 sump and pump made for 300 gallon, so filtration is good, WC change is 30% on Thursdays and 20% on Saturday.

food consist of flakes, bloodworms, earthworms, massivore, algae waffers, and shrimp.

The rest of my loaches are in another, just figured that this tank is big enought to house all of my loaches and some type of dither fish too. I gonna get some torpedo barbs n maybe something else (if theres room). Any suggestions on oher dither fish? :D The 300g is all cycled and ready for its occupants.
