jacks at easton, they had 3 others, i think they were all spoken for. i dont know if they will have any coming in next week but i can check tomorrow for you??

he isn't eating yet, but i have a little bit of everything, so hopefully it wont be an issue.

knh- i have a decent amount about him listed on the cafe site under my cold water tank

Thanks for the info. They are very interesting but I'm not looking to pick one up. Good luck with him.

lol beluga's can get 19' live 120yrs.... most dont get that big luckily.... yeah 6' is a wild average for most sturgeon, some stay smaller but most get huge...:D

depends on the species of the acipencer, for example his sturgeon, its a sterlet sturgeon it would rarely exceed 3ft in length

I wouldn't go higher than 75-76 F even with very heavy aeration. For other sturgeons like whites, I'd recommend even lower.

With a sterlet, it probably wouldn't be necessary, but many other species you really would need a chiller or some other means of keeping the water cold

Shovelnose sturgeon do well at warm temps, any thing below 80 would be ok if the water was well aerated. No so sure the sterlet would be as tolerant. Plenty of sturgeon do live in warm water. Florida has native sturgeon and very warm water. The problem is a lot of really cold water sturgeon are being sold into the trade simply because they are available. People buy them, they die and blame something besides the temps and try it again and again.
