My collection of catfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I love my gulpers they're incredibly lazy preferring to be handfed than to actually hunt. They will occasionally hunt the feederfish in the tank, but they seem to know who their tank mates are and who the prey is. I hope it stays that way. I've had fish others said where impossible to house with other fish and managed to house them with others successfully. Like my Apurensis who was housed with a smaller than him Oscar for years with no mishaps. The Apurensis is supposedly aggressive and extremely predatory. You can look him up on planetcatfish.com they suggest a species tank. Anyway sorry I really love posting pics especially my gulpers so here' s some more.

he looks fat and happy. :D
ive been thinking of getting a gulper for so long.
but im so afraid of him eating up my polys.
not to mention my other fish.

Now lets see there's 3 Jaguar catfish Liosomadoras oncinus (6, 6 & 8"), 1 rhinodoras dorbignyi(5"), 1 Bacu Pterodoras granulosus (5"), Megalodoras irwinii(6") and one Gulper(4"). As well as one Gulper watching on in amazement. I don't know there are plenty of hiding spots but they seem to like cramming( and I do mean cramming) in together.

I like your collection of catfish very much!! Keep up the good work and post more pics :)

Thanx and don't worry I will I love both my cats and photographing them. I hope to get some asian bumblebee's and a Lithodoras dorsalis to add to my collection. I am also planning on getting my other tanks from my ex-wife so I can create a special tank just for my Jaguars and Stingrays. So I hope to get some pics of that tank in the near future. Any suggestions will be appreciated and considered seriously. I look forward to hearing from anyone who might have suggestions for this tank. I definetly plan to use sand as a substrate seeing as my Stingrays seem to like it so much.
