Great pics of your colony of Burundi's, Front's look more and more beautiful as they grow. IMOP... you should use sand as your substrate instead of the blue gravel, looks more natural! I'm very, very sure that your fronts will love it and so will you!

just in case nobody heard me before NO TO SAND!! NEVER, NADA, NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN, DONT BRING IT UP AGAIN !!! and no more opinions...otherwise you will be required to posts pictures of your girfriend, wife or your fish tank and allow those with opinions to comment!!!! and yes I will call your baby ugly HAAAAAAAHAAAA
:headbang2

 Get em' Ducati! I'll help. Babies look like shaved cats, especially on sand & natural gravel. Feed em' to the fronts!

First I like your fronts, your tank looks pretty cool. I also like how you have a random mix of yellows in there b/c it brings out color and it looks really nice.

On a side note you dont gotta listen to other people they just posting their opnion and making a suggestion you dont have to listen to it but please play nice everyone =)
Your @#%king joking right ? Please post some pictures so I can tell you what I dont like about your choice or fish or girlfriend for that matter LOL I dont like sand, gets dirty real quick and gets sucked up in most filters....Like Im going to switch out my gravel just because some twit told me to or he dosent like it...who the hell cares what you think? if it aint nice to say, close the pie hole and dont say it
Still amazes me how juvenile people are not able to let others have intellectual discussions and are not able to withstand constructive criticsm. In my opion, (yes I said OPINION), you have been on the offensive from the start. Opinions and experiences are what these forums are basically about. You have also been hypocritical about "close the pie hole". I agree with your view on sand to an extent since it is not that important to fronts behavior. Would you keep shell dwellers or sand-sifters in that blue gravel? Do you think that substrate should be the norm for all cichlid keepers?
Im secure enough to not let "folks with opinions" really bother me. I started the thread so I really wasnt going to let an insult go by without my resonding in kind - sorry no freebies
It doesn't appear that you are "secure". I didn't read anyone insulting you. IMO, they gave pointers to becoming an advanced member of the hobby. Others who may be newer to the hobby might just want to read about the pros and cons of your substrate versus more natural substrates. Trying to stifle others sharing of information and education has never worked long in histrory.

And now you have become totally unproductive and juvenile. Back when I was a moderator of an international site you would have just got this thread locked and possibly your immature self booted from the forum. Now I know what this smiley is for... :banhim:
Feel free to reply with any intellectual OPINIONS that you or your "fan" might have. If all you are gonna do is open your "pie hole" and say "my Oscar can eat your goldfish" then why don't you go play over in the Pokemon forum.

Slow down Malawinut:ROFL: this is just a kid with some new fronts, no harm. He will never keep the fish to maturity, 3 years is a long time, he just wanted to buy some new fish and show them off. He never wanted any constructive advice, he wanted, "hey nice fish" "hey nice tank".
He obviously know nothing about fronts if he thinks he can sex them at that size, my thoughts on buying smaller fish from the same brood will get you females, just relax, in a month he will be back with some new fish that he traded his fronts in for.

If you were a mod somewhere else this should be a familiar scenario:grinyes:

Malawinut,

Please quote correctly without twisting the who or what it was about or to whom. It was FIN that I responded to not ASH. Big difference there.
I started the thread, so I guess by right I can either have it both ways and not really have to listen to those who dont like the color. Most like it, so it dosent matter and I can certainly be sarcastic in my thread about the next person who suggests using sand after I already explained why I wouldnt. Constructive criticism rarely exists anymore, so when someone tells me I should switchout the gravel out based on personal preference only as the reason and not discounting the amount of work required to do it, than thats just B.S. Thats just folks being rude, so returning the favor is something Im very good at...If I was asking for advice or what people think then that kind opens up the dialog as such. It all comes down to calling someones baby ugly, weither it is or it isnt dosent matter, you should never do it...
Lets not get overboard regarding the gravel, since I wasnt suggesting it to anybody - it was about the fish, which are doing just fine and will last many years in that tank thank you.
I do love the pedestal you and Armac place yourselves on You being Mr. International Moderator and Armac sounding like a dweeb that needed correction himself from you of all people. Im willing to bet both my experience in this hobby and age surpass both of you.
So dont think everybody needs your so called expertise - I dont recall asking for it .

Please feel free in sharing your pictures either on this thread or start your own. Allow me to offer constructive criticism that you desperately seek.....
No more smiles I promise :swear:

At that size I would say they are unsexable. Once they reach a certain size you can vent them to determine sexes. I don't agree with the "smaller" ones being positively female nor would I rely on behaviour. I have females that bully others like they were males. QUOTED Malawinut"
Hey Armac,
Looks like he corrected you (or disagreed) since YOU SUGGESTED THE SMALLER SIZE BEING FEMALE, not I. So much for being an expert. The only thing your proved to me was correcting my spelling - Im not impressed yet. I still stand on my educated guess based on behaviors from the most aggressive of the two that I strongly suspect being males. One is 5 1/2 " the other about 5", based on their fighting for dominance of the tank, the rate of their growth (much faster than the rest), possible size of the hump...I have not vented, nor will I.

BRUTAL again:ROFL:

BTW all your fish look to be about 3 inches, no 5 inch fish in the pics you posted.

My group of burundi are about 3 years old, no breeding yet.

End

Constructive criticism (sp) is fine, going at eachother like you guys are is not, so it ends here. Dont do it again! Thanks!

:D
