My Congicus and Ornate growout

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Let's see those laps in tank!
I'm waiting for them to fully settle down to post in tank photos. :)
Are these cuties CB or WC?
WC
I don't think they have start breeding Congis in captivity, yet? I haven't ever heard of any in my experience.
There are CB but not very common I don't think. Burbotman Burbotman has a pair of CB that he has been raising for some time. They are growing like monsters! Check his thread out.

I just checked out the thread. there's really not much of a difference between the CB and WC looks wise from what i can tell. Burbotman Burbotman is probably one of very few to have CB congis.

The main difference I would say is the head shape/structure. I wouldn't mind growing out a few CB Congis if they were available though.

Yeah i agree with you. I wonder why nearly all (if not all) CB polys have a different headshape than WC. I mean i understand how line breeding can cause deformities and oddities but why just head shape specifically.

thing about congis (and most other relatively desirable bichirs) is that they're seasonal. I haven't yet chanced across WC congis in my local LFSes. and mate you have what - four? jeez  send one over will ya.

99% of the time you will have to order them online. Most LFS wont bring in WC because they are more expensive and theyre really isnt that big of a market for specifically WC fish that would make since for an LFS to spend the extra money.
