Which spiny eel is that?

That's what I was wondering'

1x Black spotted eel
Mastacembelus dayi

Some sites say these guys get 20" but really 12".... most the spiny eels seem to fall short of their growth potential?

That's the latin name that I've seen it refered to, but really I'm not sure.. He changed his color and pattern when I put him in the 125g, sand color could be a factor in that...

I do know that he is eating like crazy lately.. has grown quite a bit and is for sure fatter! I hope he'll grow more for me.. he's about 13" now...
