Our new project is to make a above ground pond using wood. It is going to be 8X5X3 which is approximately 890 gallons. We plan on adding it to my dads deck. We are planning on building the pond first then add the additional decking on the sides of the pond. On the back of the pond we are going to lay out some Windsor stone to make a wall. In the walls we are going to put plants in there. Here are some pictures. Tell me what you guys think about it!

Sorry for the crappy design

Sounds like a plan. Is it definite or are you guys just tossing ideas around at present?

Its definite but i dont know about the garden part. I told him the garden would look nice. He likes the idea about the garden though :)

Today we went to lowes and bought wood for the frame. We didnt build the frame yet because we are busy today but for sure we are going to make the frame tomorrow. My dad wants the pond to be bigger so we are going to make it 8X6X3. That is about 1075 gallons.

UPDATE! We got all the walls done except one because the wood cracked when we were nailing it. Here are some pictures of what we have done so far. In the 3rd picture we are going to use the electrical wires and make a electrical box. Do you guys think it will hold up? How spaced out should the studs be? On the 8 foot part there are going to be 5 studs 2 foot spaced apart from each other and the 6 foot part there are going to be 2 studs. Any suggestions?
