I was just thinking about when there would be a lot of people in the room, she used to swim up to the surface and sit on top of the filter to watch everybody

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I'm just as stumped as you guys, as to what can cause an adult fish to go from normal to dead in 5 minutes. One thing that might help...even once she was dead, she refused to sit on her belly. While she was not in any way bloated, she always rolled on her back.

I only wish I could get as attached to a fish as you have...

Well that's gotta suck. Sorry for your loss.

If it's any consolation that's how my first senegal died. Happy as larry one minute; like you said doing normal senegal stuff, go up make a coffee came back found just floating there nose up.

I am so sorry for your loss. That really blows. It could be something internal. They are mass bred so sometimes not as healthy as they used to be. Not your fault. My condolences.
