I have an okay selection here, How are the stores in moscow? Do you mostly order fish online?

Stealing my thread? :banhim:

JK of course.

To increase the comfort of the fish, I have also decided to try some nitrate reducing devices.

The 55 gallon i will try doing it with anaerobic bacteria.

I'll try to hook up a coil denitrator seeded with a little sand from a deep sandbed and started out fed with a little bit of alcohol.

I'm not expecting results of it for a good couple of months, but I'll check out how it improves water quality inbetween weekly waterchanges.

The 75 gallon with have an instantly working Small scale hydroponics/aquaponics setup. I'm running a 200 gph powerhead through something like a 3' x 10" x 6" container with probably gravel as a substrate and am going to try to grow either reeds if i can figure out how to transplant them or sugar snap pees. Light will be from hanging flourescents and being sat in a window.

I've also seen using Pothos as helping so i may also submerge pothos roots directly into the tank if the relatively small hydroponics setup isn't enough.

I'm guessing the plant filter will work a lot better then the anaerobic filter, but i've wanted to try them both and the anaerobic filter is deffinately more appealing since it can be hidden much easier, but the hydroponics has added bonus of instant working and of course sugar snap pees are good.

How come the 125 plan won't work?
If it's money then just keep saving and save for what you really want because, yeah a 75 is nice but, a 125 or bigger is always better and truely what you want.
Plus it will mean more polys

A few reasons.

1. Nebraska. The amount of tanks over 55 is slim. 75's aren't all that common and it just gets less and less the more the gallonage goes up. I'm still open to a 125 if i find a good deal on it before i find a good deal on the 75, but whichever i find a good deal that circumstances work out with I'm taking it.

2. Transport. I only have a small car, a 75 probably won't even fit in it, so I'm forced to either try to pay delivery or if its not all that far away i can borrow a pickup.

3. Price. There has been 1 decent deal on a 125 in the year i have been looking for a larger tank. I tried to get it, but there was no way i could pick it up. It was $50 for a 125, it needed to be cleaned out well and the center brace needed to be replaced, but i would have took it in a heartbeat had i been able to. The cheapest 125 tank besides that has been in the ballpark of $400. 75 gallons usually don't even go for very cheap, but finding a good deal on them is slightly easier.

Hopd all goes well then
and for transport just rent a uhaul pickup truck

Brand new 75gal Acrylic here is only $325 out the door!!!:D I'm blessed to live in a state that has a high # of fish hobbyists.

Yes, we all hate cali for their good deals.

Welp, one part of the plan is starting.

I've moved the convicts out, and now I'm trying some pothos to see if there is any nitrate reduction, I've heard they are actually very good at reducing nitrates.

I'm hoping to get the actual hydroponics system soon as well since all the fish in the 55 are growing and I'm still waiting for the right deal, I'm sure some nitrate reduction between waterchanges will help them out.
