My dehezi died today..

My little 5'' delhezi died a terrible death, I break up my massivore into 4's and let them sink to the bottom in the morning. I came home today to she him hiding under the driftwood where he normaly is, but dead! Its mouth was full of a big mush full of pellets, I wasn't home watching to see him struggling otherwise I would of helped the little guy out. I netted him out and his jaw was bloated and looked in the mouth and it was full of brown mush, must have ate to much to fast and couldn't gerge it up or get it down the hatch.
I feel so bad for him. :(

I don't think that was it, I think it was more eating another pellet before it finished the first one. I take 1 big massivore pellet break it up and put it in the clowns munch on some of the pieces, but it looked like he ate all of these! There are no pellets left, who knows how many he ate, from what was in his mouth it looked like all of it. For months it worked with not a problem. Just ate to much I guess. I was suprised to find him dead in the first place, and a death due to choking on pellets at that was a REAL suprise!(not a good one at that) and just before christmas where he was getting a nice treat of bloodworms.

im sorry man. that would suck to find and i hope you find a good christmas present to help with the lost:D

I nearly had this happen the first time I tried feeding the first bichir I bought (palmas), I cut the beef heart a bit big and he swam around with it stuck in his mouth for about 10 minutes until I netted him and removed it.

Sucks about the del, I was about to try mine on whole pellets but now I think I'll keep cutting them in half for a bit longer.
 
soory for your loss! the same happened to one of my baby senegals. he tried to eat a whole shrimp. when I saw him, he was dead with a half shrimp sticking out from his mouth.
