its very skinny but imo it doesn't look like yarelli or rutilis and i doubt its a dwarf so i'm leaning towards lica as well just fatten him up in the meantime!

This thing does look a lot like Emanator's specimen. I'm curious to see how it looks once it's bigger. I would expect a lica to be a bit more spotted than this one is, but that could come in better once it settles down more. And of course we all know that color and markings aren't always the most reliable method of identifying a fish. I'll say that I tentatively agree with the lica/Thai goonch diagnosis.

I'm looking forward to more pictures. I know if anyone can fatten that fish up quick, it's you Matt. :)
 
Lookin good now! gotta love killers. Sucks it was a tarpon but well worth it for a goonch...any other fish u need to get rid of lol? Large cichlids are my favorite death canidates :) cant tell u how many ive "rehomed" to the stomaches of mine that i got for free or a few dollars off craigslist.
