grip fill or any other construction tube super stick would do. I think you pin the pannels together on the corners, a couple of drilled holes in the frames with screws covered by corner beed wouldn'y go a miss though.
I'm thinking of doing the same, not because i think metal is better but it's a hell of a lot cheaper. Vaneered MDF is cheap as well if you can't affored good hard wood for doors or cladding, only slightly more expencive than ply but when it's stained and laquered it looks 100 times better.
