Did you stand the tank on polystyrene sheet to take out any Un eveness in the plywood sheet on the top of your stand

There is no need for this as long as the tank is level. The need for foam is an old wives tale IMO, unless you are talking flat glass/acrylic on wood. Even then, the need isn't as crucial as some claim.

None the less if you look at rimless and acrylic tanks I don't see styrofoam or polystyrene on everyone from the manufacturer. Within a combo purchase.

Being level doesn't exactly matter either with a rimmed tank. It has a huge amount of support around it. What matters with being level is the pressure on the glass, not the stand. Because it is more on the lower points. But if it was level and filled to the same capacity it's also holding the same weight.

It's all about contact area and regular ole plywood with imperfections and divots and gaps cause an issue of support. Rimmed tanks help aid this. How many tanks from big box stores come on a pressboard stand and still last a decade or more. It has 100% contact area for direct contact and support.

Found a nice spot to mount the thermometer. As seen in the first pic.

After that water, Heater and filter put in. High here in Orlando today was 52 so I didn't put seeded media in. Too cold considering Monday is back in the 70s.

Still gotta clean the glass well, haven't bothered since it's not all together.
