My DIY turtle tank setup.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Interesting setup I am looking for a way to do the land water thing with my turtle setups. Right now they just have basking spots but I want to do something bigger and better for them.

Thanks,
Jack

Very cool! I have something very similar on my turt tank (Search for DIY turtle enclosure, it should come up) and it really is a great thing to have. My turts use mine constantly and im sure you will find that this is a hundred times better than in in-tank floating platform. GJ!

Good idea you now have more tank space for them.
Why not use screen around the basking spot instead of wood . Imagine its safer with hot spot light and you can see them bask.

They carry all types screens.mesh at home depot.

Really nice setup! I may be a total noob on this forum, but i love terrapins and turtles (I have 2 painters and an res) , and my concern is that they won't be getting the proper UVA/UVB spectrum light from their lamps because it will be blocked by the glass, and that the wood section might not be long enough to keep them from climbing/ falling out of the tank Otherwise everything looks great,

You need to clear the way. UvB doesant penetrate glass;)

That's a very interesting setup. I may have to do something like that with my turtles. I have a 29 gallon with an end busted out. I could just build a stand to butt it up to the end of my 55 and then build a big screen canopy for the whole setup.
