One of my dogs eats carrots that she steals from my tortoises. My other dog eats rocks, I found this out by cleaning up after him. He got into a bag of 3/4" gravel and made a meal out of it. Luckily everything passed through and all is good. I threw the gravel out add I'm not talking any chances.

I have a pug and he will eat absolutely anything. I catch him eating carpet lint all the time. I can also tell you that you don't need to be worried if your dog randomly starts pooping rainbows, it just means that he was snacking on a box of crayons earlier.

Pugs have to be the worse. Your picking up one thing he started eating and you turn around and hes eating a cotton ball, marble, plant, tissue paper, paper ball, battery, ect i would just have to follow the dog around going no! No! NO! Drop it! No! Blah!

My dog has eaten a whole container of freeze-dried tubifex worms, plus a tin of Hikari micro-pellets. She also makes a regular habit of eating ear plugs and has opened drawers in our night stands to get to them before. Every once in a while I get a call from my husband that goes "You will never guess what the dog just pooped out" and I say "If you left the bathroom trash open this week, I can absolutely guess what the dog pooped out." He's learning that cabinets have doors for a reason...

One of my old foster dogs likes to move things around. At our place she mostly moved shoes. We would find them everywhere - her bed, the hall, the steps, the couch. My sister adopted her and they have found her with collections of some very strange things - napkins, coffee mugs, slippers, a jar of sunflower seeds, an umbrella, the lid to the trash can (trash untouched), etc. The only thing she ever tore up was a few BRAND NEW UNUSED diapers. I've heard of dogs eating used diapers, but these were just set up in the nursery waiting for the baby to be born and start using them.

One foster I had tried to gobble up rotting pigs feet from the sidewalk one morning - I also had to pry discarded hamburgers and chicken bones out of her mouth on a few occasions (my neighbors are disgusting).

Of course, we've also had several fosters who would eat poop (yuck)!

When I was a kid we had a tank with some baby snapping turtles. The cats used to drink out of it and we'd watch, waiting for the day the turtles got a hold of a cat's tongue. There were a few close calls, but it never did happen.

My bearded collie is a great mellow dog until it sees an uninflated balloon then she HAS to eat it. Many time I have chased my gd dog around the yard with a bright pink balloon hanging from her arse trying to get the rest of it out. The dog thinks the balloon is chasing her so that adds to the chaos. My neighbors must think I am a madman devoid of reason.

I think its a breed thing. My dog will steal anything he finds interesting. He won't chew anything or usually wont eat it or destroy it he just collects it. His bed can not be empty. Ive moved his bed before and he has gone all over the house collecting stuff to fill it up. And then he does it in my bed too.

His worst thing he did on my bed was he ate an entire canister of carnivore pellets and he opened and spilled one pound of color flake all over my bed. I was so tired i just slept on the dusted off sheets and woke up smelling like my new perfume eue de omega one.

Couple years ago my dog arrow ate a chicken kebab off the counter, stick and all. A few days later we noticed that looked sick or like he was in pain so off we went to the vet... the vet took x-rays and there didnt seem to be anything in there so we thought he had passed it. but they wanted to be sure so they kept him there for a couple days for observation, they put him on some pain killers and called my dad to go pick him up a few days later. So my dad went and picked him up and because arrow hadnt seen my dad in a while he was obviously pretty excited to see him. In his excitement he dislodged the skewer which was actually still inside him (x-ray machines cant see wood apperently) and the skewer went through his stomach, through one of his lungs and in between his ribs so that there was only skin still keeping the skewer inside. Luckily my dad felt the skewer while patting him and asked the vet what the bump was. The vet then picked up arrow and sat in the back of my car while my dad drove him to an emergency vet across town arrow was in septic shock when they got there and went right into surgery. A couple days and about 7k later he finally came home.

Ouch on the 7k, luckily (knocking on wood real fast) my dogs haven't had to have surgery. I have one who seems to prefer electronics, chewed up a cell phone and serveral remotes - luckly didn't ingest much.

My other dog seems to love spicy food, peppers and what have you. She will steal them if she can, but will whine when it gets revenge on her later..
