MY DOG WAS ATTACKED BY 2 PITBULLS TODAY

I was visiting a friend who owns 2 male APBT. He said his dogs were fine and we tried to make the introduction with my female pit mix. Within seconds a fight was on both dogs looked to be latched on my dog, luckily my friend and I were standing close by and separated the fight quickly. My dog surprisingly didn't break any skin but has a huge golf ball sized seroma/hematoma on her neck but seems fine and just ate a bowl of dog food in good spirits. I had a minor bite on my knee from my friends dog and my friend was bitten fairly severely on the hand by his own dog. I think it was my dog's lucky day to get away which such little injury.

I know pit bull folks going to say what they are going to say, just to many kids getting killed by these dogs.

Luckily she has a lot of hound mixed in and has lots loose skin in the neck region, I think that saved her.

Hello; While it will not come from me, be prepared for "blame the owner" comments. Sorry to hear that you and your friend were bitten. Dog bites can become infected so take care.

Do you intend to take your dog to a vet for that hematoma?
Years ago my first pit got into it with another dog and wound up with one of those and we took him in to a vet first thing in the morning.

Yeah he turned out okay.Doc squeezed some fliud from the bite hole and I think he even stuffed a swab in there and moved it around IIRC.He also gave him medication to fight infection.
