MY DOG WAS ATTACKED BY 2 PITBULLS TODAY

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah he turned out okay.Doc squeezed some fliud from the bite hole and I think he even stuffed a swab in there and moved it around IIRC.He also gave him medication to fight infection.

Nice. Luckily for my dog it didn't break skin. I think the other dog just got loose skin and no hard tissue. The dog that actually got her by the throat was a solid 105lbs, so glad it wasn't worse.

I have an avocado tree in bloom right now and my dog probably eats two giant fallen avos a day.(some avocado species are poisonous to dog but not this one)She has put at least 5-10lbs in the last month or two, I think her extra pounds saved her.

LOL wow,I know some dogs can be greedy but I have never heard of them eating such things.
That's a big pit at 105 pounds but then, these days most pit bull variants are bulky.
My neighbor across the yard has a nice little blue pit that looks to be about sixty to sixty five pounds and is about as about as vicious and unsocialized as can be.It comes up to their side of the boundary fence and snarls with my dog sometimes.Although my dog is much bigger I believe if the little cus got through the fence it would do some damage to my boy.

She and my neighbors dog love them, she even buries them all over the yard for later. Its a tall tree, so I cant pick them all; a fair amount fall to the ground and she will seriously gorge on them for hours.

I envision green poop all over the place.

inwardly I tend to question why we feel the need for dogs like pit bulls...don't get me wrong, I know even the smallest of dogs can pose a danger, and the owners training is a big part of it; but at the end of the day, dogs like pit bulls are basically built to destroy big living things; in the way that my jack russell is designed to chase down, chase out small rodents, foxes etc.

It's not even the same thing as us keeping say Dovii, because the dovii is confined to its tank; offering relative safety unless we seek danger, but with these larger and larger dogs, whose instinct is aggression; they pose a risk to every human they can come into contact with.

Anyway, those are my morning musings; I'm not advocating some direct point of action, it does worry me the direction some of these dog breeds are taking/used for etc

This thread title is not going to help your argument of blame the deed not the breed from that other pit thread lol.

These dogs are known to have a higher than average dog on dog aggression, its a crapshoot mixing them sometimes. I've seen similar outcomes but have also seen great outcomes. my ex's pitbull/boxer mix got a brother not long ago, a bandog (spelling? I don't know its a pit/American bulldog mix) and they love eachother lol. no bad fights, maybe a squabble or two but no blood. Neither of them are fixed either.

your friend needs to establish dominance over those two, they are silently running him. my dog bites me, even in the middle of a dog fight, he best say his goodbyes right then and there.

When my Pit was still alive it wrecked anything that got in the (fenced) yard. Countless cats and the occasional squirrel. We always tried to socialize with other dogs but had much the same experience as your encounter. Other than my wife and I to play with he lived a pretty solitary life.
