Does yours always try to lick your face too? Mine does nonstop, especially if I kneel down or am doing something where I am at the same level as him......constantly trying to lick my face. It's not even a dog, it's a TONGUE with ears and feet
Hello; This statement is misleading. I have neighbors who have dogs now and in the past with no problems from the dogs at all. The same neighbors tell me the story of having a pitt bull they raised from a pup. That dog attacked a family member. The pitt bull was put down. I have seen them with their dogs for years now. One is currently a German Shepard that I am not afraid of.
The implication being that the same people were "bad owners" when they had the pitt bull. While now they are the good owners that I have observed.
I get that many like their pitt bull types and turn a blind eye to the sad truths. I have posted links to sites that cite the facts about the dogs and will not bother here again. Many of us who like dogs can also see the issues surrounding ther pitt bull types.
ah yes.... those same killer monster teeth that can cause SOOOOO much damage, yet even when I'm roughhousing with him and he starts to get agitated and I thrust my forearm into his mouth (sideways, of course), they never even leave marks, much less break the skin.
The moment I put my arm in his mouth, he knows. He has no desire to hurt me, never will. Raised him like my own son, and when he had kids, I raised them the same way. Never have I seen such unflinching loyalty in another dog breed in my life.
When I yell at them for doing something wrong, you can literally see their feelings get hurt as they sulk-off to go lay down.

Hello; Well, yes they are. The numbers are that something around 60+ percent of fatal maulings are done by pitt bull types. I have some of the links saved if you wish to see for yourself. It some of the maulings the dogs were raised from pups and killed their owner (the person who raised them.) Fatal maulings of children are a considerabl portion.
The more I learn about the owner of the dogs that attacked my dog, the more I blame that donkey(the owner)not his dogs. It was someone I've known for years but I may only see once a year or so, not a close friend. Some information has come to light about this person I wasn't aware of......
I definitely won't live anywhere where it wil be dictated to me which dogs I can and cannot keep.
