My Dovii´s

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
they dont really look like dovii. i have dovii fry in my tank and they look different

now if those are Jaguars, it is tempting to get a little bigger male Dovii, around 6", but the only tank available for him at the moment is a 4x1x1feet tank that houses Hujetas and a Needlenose "gar". Do you think the Dovii would tolerate those for a few months until he gets a private tank? Thought it might work since they are so different and many fish are more aggressive to similar looking fish...
Or are they aggressive with every fish?

a male dovii may or may not tolerate those species as tankmates. sorry for the undifinitive answer but it's the honest truth that it's really a gamble, because every fishes aggresion tendencies are different. IME you have a better chance on everyone cohabing nicely the smaller the dovii you get, but you never know.

they dont look like juvi jags to me..... so I would go Dovii.

jags im afraid.

yOu may want to give this a month or two becuase I just went through this same issue. I turned up with two females and thought one was a male. I ended up getting a male earlier this week. And he does resemble a few of your little ones and I am pretty sure there the same size. So I would wait and see for yourself.

Another thing you will find out real soon is if those are Dovi (all of them) you better start seperating soon I have not been able to keep any of the same sex together at all. So watch for signs of aggression. I asked here first if they were females but the chunk that was taken out of the smaller one was already a good indication! By the way I seen two of yours that look like my male maybe not as shinny and BLUE but similar! I will post pics later for you of my male it's been kind of hard to get a goos shot of him because he is in a tank with some fish with fry so he is on the run right now.
