My dovii... advice

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree with cichlid connection.. or even try pulling male and throw 2 or 3 females in there for a week or two to acclimate then introduce the male. I'm sure you'll get a pair that way then sell other females. Nice male btw. Good luck.

I second that My male Dovii is about foot and the female was about 7.5 they breed very well. About couple of weeks ago the male was sick of the female and killed her what a shame so now I'm stuck with one mean fish and no one to play with :D

thanks for all the input... Like everyone has posted, i really hate to leave such an empty tank... i think i will try placing him in a temporary 120, get some good size fish in the 300g and hopefully they establish territory and re-introducing him into the tank. I will watch very closely though. I lost 3 great fish due to my ignorance and i don't want that to happen again.

Once my tank is completely set up with all the stars and bangles i'll post pics!

Maybe add more that 3 fish at a time, and switch the decor around. I did that with my 14 inch Jag and it worked for me. He's in a 125 gallon too.

I've seen a pair of dovii in a 600 gallon and trust me, it's not an empty tank. Most impressive tank I've ever seen.

That is a super nice Dovii. I'm not particularly crazy about them, but this one.... wow!!!

Good luck getting more fish in there, I'd try the females and see what happens.
