my 15 dovii have been tgether since birth, most are now 4-6", with a few smaller.

deal is they were housed in a 6' 100g till recently, no major fights at all and no losses.

then my keeper pair went into a 75 with some small dithers and the remaining 13 went into a 85g sump(say bout 50g worth of water). the keeper pair did nothing but hide and the rest in the sump fought non stop. then my big tank popped a seam, forcing me to place all 15 in the 75:eek: as a quick fix.

so now that their all in the 75 there is no fighting and no hiding from any of them. im guessing its just too packed? or perhaps the lack of the dominant male in the sump caused the rest to fight for "the crown"?

i know it wont last forever but these fish pretty much school together, and a wolf pack seems so cool. ive thought about putting them all in my 360 once i get it gong again. its as if they enjoy being together.

I think your theory about the dominance makes sense. By removing the largest fish from the group, or rather the group from the largest fish, the so-called pecking order is upset. This leaves the group of thirteen fish with no status quo, and they fight to determine who is on top.

Conversely, the dominant fish that are now alone have nothing to bully and hide.

On an unrelated note, how long did it take for these fish to grow from fry to their current size?
