my dovii has really %&*$ me off

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
one of my dempseys attacks the water that comes off the bio wheel on the filter when the water level goes low

i use to have this problem a few years back, not with quite such a large fish i should mention. the remedy was to cover the tank with polycarbonate, i attatched a latch system to hold it down but with a fish as large as a dovii i would use a wieght of some kind and thick poly (prob 8mm or higher if you can afford it) then use an arcadia overhead lighting system. that worked for me

you could build yourself a wooden hood seal it and put some acrylic on the bottom of the hood if i can't break acrylic then neither can your fish.

Cheers for all the suggestions
In the end I am leaving the tank top open, to stop the jumping altogether.
For lighting I have a 150W floodlight, looks very natural. Very Cheap too (< £10)
