My Dovii is a Whimp :(

I recently bought a F1 Dovii cichlid from a breeder and he said that it will kill everything?
Sadly my little 2.5 inch midas is pounding my 6 inch dovii, what is this? I've had 6 dovii's before and they all were skittish, territorial but not aggressive. I put up some pictures of this male dovii F1

well the dovvi is in a new territory and the midas already owns that territory so the midas has the upper hand at things

No, I divided the tank for 30 minutes and then let it lose... I personally think dovii's are over rated as far as aggression. they look cool, but are skittish and little or no personality.

that dovii doesnt appear to have any color at all. you sure hes a male and that its f1?

Believe me its a male, wild fish commonly don't really have color. this dovii has spots on his fins and body. that last picture i taken of him, the light were off thats why he had faded colors.

Nothing in this hobby happens in 30 minutes that should form a long term opinion besides death. What is the largest size you have a raised a dovii out to? My female is skiddish with little personality, because the male is a nut case. Give it time and size and the midas will lose it's territory/tank.
